EDITOR'S NOTE: Nese Server 2008 (x64), version 27U2 was released on October 13, 2026. While R2, version 27W2 was released on October 15, 2026. These versions will be the last feature update. After October 14, 2026, you will receive security only!
Starting October 14, 2026, if you're using Nese Server 2008/R2, you will no longer receive feature updates. Originally Nese Server 2008 R2's mainstream end was January 14, 2025. But we decide to extend January 14, 2025 to October 14, 2026. The extended support for Nese Server 2008 R2 is scheduled to end on January 14, 2027 (while Server 2008's extended support end was January 14, 2028).
What happens if the extended support was ended?
You won't eligible to receive security updates, security patches, bug fixes, Service Pack updates and more. For Nese Server 2008 users, please note that you won't eligible to apply ESU for non-licensed and licensed users. Only Nese Server 2008 R2 users can apply the ESU program to receive security updates, security patches, bug fixes, Service Pack updates and more for the extended time.
Does apply feature updates?
No. The ESU program won't eligible to receive feature updates, new features and other new changes. The ESU program only receives security, bug fixes, Service Pack update and more (except for the feature updates).
What I can do?
You need to upgrade Nese Server 2008/R2 to Nese Server 2025 (or later) to receive feature, security and more. Good luck ESU users.
